DATA QUALITY

Data Quality positions deal with the validity of the data sets, as well as how to maintain the structures and processes that provide data sets for analysis. Data Quality specialists work closely with Data Engineers, Scientists, and Analysts to ensure that the data that is being aggregated and used to make reports is legitimate, and providing quality data points. Data Quality positions work with software and other means that help to support these processes. They also specialize in validating data sets that are pulled from the pipeline and cleansing large amounts of data for use.

As a prospective Data Quality specialist, you will work closely with QA protocols at a company, and perform hands-on QA for data quality, new features of data systems, and regression testing. Data Quality positions have a large part of their work done in automated coded scripts, so expect to work with popular programming languages like SQL, Python, and Ruby. Data Quality specialists will also design processes for the in-house QA framework, refining existing processes, and improving data mining.
