Why We're Ecstatic to be A Best Place to Work

ESP Team celebrates Receiving Best Places to Work Award

For the second year in a row, we’ve been honored among 30 other small companies, 15 medium companies, and 10 large companies in Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal’s ‘Best Places to Work’. We’re very pleased to name some of them as our clients, as well as to have made the list again ourselves.
The criteria used for this award are retention, advocacy, and discretionary effort, and the results are based on 30 questions answered anonymously by our employees. We couldn’t be happier that our employees love where they work. Placing people first is what we’re all about, and by ‘people’ we mean our client companies and IT professionals, and our co-workers.
Retention:
Many members of the ESP team have been here for over 10 years, but it isn’t just about the numbers for us. We work hard to keep people around, liking what they do, and where they work, and receiving this award is a vote of confidence from our team. A flexible atmosphere, free of micromanaging that encourages individual hard work as a contribution to the team’s goals and vision go a long way toward keeping our employees happy and motivated. And we don’t think our frequent celebrations, dogs-in-the-office policy, and casual dress code hurt either.
Advocacy:
Everyone at ESP has a voice in big decisions through participating in brainstorms and quarterly one-on-one’s with ESP’s president Bob Hildreth. We’ve been told people like having a say in what we do, how we grow, and how we view ourselves, and in part because of this, we hear them talk about us being one of the best companies out there.
Discretionary Effort:
Work hard, play hard is definitely true at ESP. We’re not happy being second best at what we do, so we strive to deliver exceptional service to our client companies and job seekers by finding the best candidates for our clients and helping our IT professionals advance their careers. That takes hard work, relentless motivation, and a committed attitude from our entire team. But we think having fun and celebrating successes is equally important, which is why we have team building events, pizza parties, monthly happy hours and foosball competitions.
Thanks to our employees, the results of the Minneapolis/St Paul Business Journal’s ‘Best Places to Work’ and Minnesota Business Magazine’s ’100 Best Companies to Work For’ speak for themselves.
