We are looking for a Windows System Administrator for a contract-to-hire opportunity at one of our clients. This is a fun environment with a great client. The duties of Windows system administrators range across the spectrum of individual Windows operating system adjustments to controlling the foundations of the entire network. They are charged with the installation of new updates and systems as well as support and logistics for the company. We are seeking a self-motivated, passionate engineer to join our team who shares the desire to build infrastructure and applications. 


  • Monitors hosted platforms
  • Scripts deployment of servers and software builds
  • Understands and improves (automate) Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment processes, tools and infrastructure
  • Supports and works with the Development and QA teams to continually improve products
  • Analyzes, installs, acquires, modifies and supports operating systems, databases or utilities software
  • Produces and maintains current documentation on system needs within scope of responsibility
  • Provides support for assigned products, including installation, maintenance, documentation, customization, and utilization of product features
  • Writes and/or modifies system software routines and programs
  • Diagnoses and resolves user and operational problems with software
  • Researches, evaluates, performs cost analysis and writes business justification for recommendations on new technologies. Assists in vendor selection as part of this process


  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field
  • Windows Server and/or Red Hat Linux knowledge or administration
  • Experience with automation in a one or multiple scripting framework(s) (e.g. Batch, PowerShell, Perl, Ant)
  • Solid understanding of networking, including firewalls, load balancing, TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP
  • Familiarity with managing DNS, firewall settings, load balancers and hardware settings
  • Proactive, motivated, self-directed, detail oriented, independent individual with excellent communication skills
  • Familiarity with AGILE and SCRUM development processes
  • Working knowledge of software engineering and quality assurance processes
  • Ability to write clear and concise environment and process documentation


  • MS SQL Server experience
  • MySQL experience
  • Tomcat, JBoss and/or Apache experience
  • Jenkins or other CI experience
  • Systems design experience
