The Software Engineer designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements software programming applications. This position supports and/or installs software applications systems and participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software.

Responsibilities also include:

  • Collaborating with developers, analysts, project managers, and end users in the development of new software applications
  • Assisting in the preparation and documentation of program requirements and specifications
  • Running and monitoring software performance tests for new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and providing general debugging
  • Installing software products for end users as required 
  • Conducting research on emerging application development software products, languages, and standards in an effort to improve performance and development practices 
  • Assisting in developing coding standards
  • Liaising with network administrators, system analysts, and software engineers to resolve problems with software products

Requirements:

  • B.S. in Computer Science or related area
  • 3+ years C# development experience in the .Net framework, including a strong understanding of how a C# application flows
  • Working technical knowledge of Windows 2000/2003/2008 operating system, ASP.Net, JavaScript and SQL Server stored procedures 
  • Experience in database design and development using SQL Server
  • Experience developing n-tier applications
  • Understanding of Object Oriented methodologies
  • Experience with Agile development methodology desired
  • Experience with test-driven development a plus
  • Flexible and adaptable to learning and understanding new technologies
  • Excellent motivation with proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with capability to train others
  • Ability to work independently and be agile in a fast-moving, team-oriented, collaborative environment
