Information Security Engineer 

Contribute to the design, implementation, operations and support of enterprise security solutions as the Information Security Engineer. Your key focus areas will include identity management tools, authentication infrastructure, endpoint protection and application security.  

Qualifications:

  • BA or BS in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field (Related advanced degree considered in meeting the experience requirement)
  • Specialized training in security related tools
  • 7 - 10 years of experience in computing and information security
  • Experience with security engineering, identity management, endpoint security technologies, authentication, authorization and application vulnerability remediation
  • Knowledgeable of information security standards (e.g., ISO 17799/27002, etc.) and the rules and regulations related to HIPAA information security
  • Knowledgeable about data and desktop, server, application, database, network security principles for risk identification and analysis related to HIPAA
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills and proficient communication skills (oral, written, presentation)
  • Ability to implement information systems and produce and manipulate aggregate data
  • Experience creating and updating technical support documentation
  • Develop, review, edit, and support cyber security standards/policy documentation and/or security awareness materials
  • Knowledge of application security principles
  • Knowledge of malware prevention, detection and reaction principles
    Experienced with security information and event management (SIEM) tools
  • Direct experience with endpoint security, identity management and application security tools
  • Security certification CISSP, CISM, or other security certifications preferred

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, support, and evaluate security-focused tools and services including project leadership roles
  • Provide daily, ongoing security oversight of systems
  • Advise users of the security features and procedures
  • Evaluate and develop approach to solutions while proactively assessing items of risk and opportunities of vulnerability in the network
  • Work with internal IT staff and customers to establish and enforce IT security best practices, protection objectives, process improvements and effective IT security controls
  • Provide technical leadership for endpoint security solutions
  • Review existing application security schemes, make recommendations for improvement and drive improvements through to completion
  • Maintain operational and engineering guidelines and processes
  • Support existing security solutions and partner with other technology teams for the implementation and integration of any new enhancements
  • Ensure security tools and solutions hardware/software/devices are operating effectively and updated in a timely manner
  • Determine appropriate levels of security configuration, controls and monitoring and support the maintenance and deployment of new security solutions
  • Support incident management processes and security monitoring alerts
  • Stay up-to-date on security research and understand the latest threat techniques
  • Coordinate and execute IT security projects as directed
  • Coordinate response to information security incidents
  • Develop and publish Information Security policies, procedures, standards and guidelines based on knowledge of best practices and compliance requirements
